How to fix “vSphere HA initiated a virtual machine failover action”

By H. Cemre Günay

“vSphere HA initiated a virtual machine failover action” or “HA initiated a failover action in cluster” issue warning message keep showing on my VMware vSAN ROBO cluster. All hosts in the cluster running fine and there is no HA error in logs too.

This alert occurs when a Failover occurs in the cluster. Both of the servers are in a production environment and there is no issue while provisioning a VM. Once the configuration issues warning message appears, you can no longer suppress it and there is no chance to acknowledge, “reset to green” or see which machine was migrated.

The detailed message as below:

vSphere HA initiated a failover action 1 virtual machines in cluster “ClusterName” in datacenter “DatacenterName

This article will show you the solution to resolve this configuration issues warning message. Follow the below solution steps to resolve “vSphere HA initiated a virtual machine failover action” configuration issues.

Solution: Disable vSphere HA and Enable vSphere HA Again
