Dell VxRail – df-service: Service datastore may have been renamed (not for VCF)
Important: Do not use this procedure if you are having a VMware Cloud Foundation on VxRail Environment!
Before every VxRail update or upgrade, it is recommended to use the VxVerify tool, for which I have already written an article, see here:
This time I had the challenge that the Service Datastores did not have the correct name and above all were renamed:
df_service: Service datastores may have been renamed.
A look at the vCenter and lo and behold, the service datastores have been adjusted by the customer:
But how do we find the original name of the Service Datastores? Quite simply via the following example log path: /var/log/mystic/vxv/minion_lab-42-esxi-01.log, at this line:
Now copy everything behind Service DS path and rename the datastore in the vCenter accordingly:
Then we run another VxVerify and lo and behold, almost everything is green:
