Dell Technologies World 2022

By H. Cemre Günay

Today I want to tell you about my unique experience from my first participation of the Dell Technologies World 2022 in Las Vegas. It was like a theme park for passionated technologists. First, let me start with my incredible view from my hotel room – wow:

Right after the breakfast, I came across one of our Computacenter banners:

After that, the first session – Dell VxRail innovations, probably you are going to hear the news in the next VMware TechUpdate. 😉

On my way to the first main event, I saw a big banner where the sponsors of the Dell Technologies World 2022 were shown and I was more then proud to see, that Computacenter was a Gold Partner in this great event:

Arrived in the huge hall, we waited impatiently for the first Main Keynote:

An interesting message from CEO Michael Dell caught my eye, which I photographed:

And now there he was, Michael Dell, CEO of Dell Technologies with his famous tweet:

“I started Dell Technologies 37 years ago with $1000. Revenues in 1984 were $6 million. Last year’s revenues were $94.2 billion. Impossible is nothing.”

Together with his colleagues, he told us about the vision of Dell Technologies, new partnerships and innovations.

After the first main event, I decided to take picture of myself with the big Dell Technologies World Logo. Thanks to my mentor Marc Huppert.

In the next session we got an insight from 3 Dell customers about their IT Evolution Journey with Dell VxRail. And at 11 a.m. the Solution Expo opened and quite a few partners presented their solutions. We were also able to ask Dell Specialists questions that had plagued us over the past 2 years in the pandemic and participate in various raffles.

Of course, we as Computacenter were also there with our own booth:

Oscar-winning actor, Matthew McConaughey attended Dell Technologies World 2022 and said:

“Well I’ve spoken to many technology companies, and I’ve said: ‘You’re creating the new Eden…What’s the mission statement?’ You know what they say: ‘The algorithm will tell us.’ That scares the bleep out of me.”

We had the chance to get insights into Dell Associate as well as Implementation Engineer exams. Where Dell Specialist Steven Blood gave us an overview of the individual exams. In addition, we had the opportunity to test various Dell Technologies Enterprise solutions in the handson area and possibly discover a new favourite solution such as Dell PowerProtect, for this I will write a separate article in connection with my HomeLab.

At the big evening event another highlight – Gary Clark Jr. – live on stage with his great songs. My first Blues concert, as a rookie blues guitarist and big Albert King fan by the way. 🙂

The days were filled with lots of informations, innovations and the long awaited in person reunions of technology enthusiasts. I hope you enjoyed this short insight into Dell Technologies World 2022.

I will report in a separate article about our German Lunch & Learn Session at Dell Tech World hosted by Joachim Hanka Senior Manager, Systems Engineering – where my mentor Marc Huppert told the german partners about the interaction between Dell Technologies, VMware and NVIDIA in the World of AI, Deep and Machine Learning – so stay tuned 🙂
