irgNET – LAB 5.0 U3
Welcome to update 3 of the fifth stage of my Home Lab. The Big Disaster that happened to me actually after this update. We see everything still resting here in peace.
What did I add to the Update 2? Hardware! I got a friendly donation and that is a Dell OptiPlex 9020 mSFF with Intel i5 CPU, I upgraded it a bit to 16GB Ram and a 120GB SSD. What should the good one do?
Concentrate solely on backup and manage my home automation (HomeBridge). I also wanted to separate my backup from the productive server with this upgrade.
Homebridge allows you to integrate with smart home devices that do not natively support HomeKit. There are over 2,000 Homebridge plugins supporting thousands of different smart accessories.
The PowerLine connection between Datacenter 1 and 2 is still catastrophic, but I have to get through that until I get the permission to lay a fiber cable into Datacenter 1.
