There are several reasons why you have to factory reset a VxRail node, for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • creating a new cluster<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • a fresh install is failing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Here is an easy step by step guide – how to RASR reset a Dell EMC VxRail 7.0 node. Before we start please remember that you are going to take the node back to factory reset. Do not perform a RASR reset unless it is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Fast Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Restart the Dell EMC VxRail Node with Reset System (warm boot)<\/strong> via iDRAC<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Press F11 <\/strong>for the Boot Manager<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Wait until the Boot Manager is loaded<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Click One-shot UEFI Boot Menu<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Click Internal SD: RASRTOOL<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. You will see the RASR\/Troubleshooting Menu, wait for the 10 seconds<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. If you see a black screen with a white dash, please be patient the RASR application will load<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    8. In the RASR menu type F<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    9. Then type yes <\/strong>for continue<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    10. Type disconnected <\/strong>to start the factory reset<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    11. After the successful Message hit enter to get back to the RASR Menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    12. In the RASR menu type Q <\/strong>and yes <\/strong>to reboot<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      type Q <\/strong>and yes <\/strong>to reboot the Dell EMC VxRail node<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

      The RASR process and the reboot after will take about 1-1,5 hours – so please be patient<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
