But since we are experienced VMware administrators, we look at any PSODs soberly and go into troubleshooting. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As described in the title of this post and also seen in the screenshot, the error message is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><\/p><cite>LINT1 motherboard nonmaskable interrupt, undiagnosed. This may be a hardware problem: please contact your hardware vendor.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>So I first went on the Internet to search for the error message, of course there were plenty about it. But first I found this official Knowledge Base article from VMware via the Dell Support page:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dell.com\/support\/kbdoc\/de-de\/000134171\/how-to-troubleshoot-lint1-motherboard-interrupt-errors-on-poweredge-servers-running-vmware-vsphere?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>https:\/\/www.dell.com\/support\/kbdoc\/de-de\/000134171\/how-to-troubleshoot-lint1-motherboard-interrupt-errors-on-poweredge-servers-running-vmware-vsphere?lang=en<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kb.vmware.com\/s\/article\/1804\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>https:\/\/kb.vmware.com\/s\/article\/1804<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, this KB article was not really target-leading so then I thought maybe the iDRAC would say something about my PSOD problem and here we go, there was a fatal error with the PCI card in slot 5: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"346\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/irg-net.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/2022-06-18_004835.jpeg?resize=1024%2C346&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1444\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/irg-net.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/2022-06-18_004835.jpeg?resize=1024%2C346&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/irg-net.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/2022-06-18_004835.jpeg?resize=300%2C101&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/irg-net.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/2022-06-18_004835.jpeg?resize=768%2C259&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/irg-net.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/2022-06-18_004835.jpeg?w=1052&amp;ssl=1 1052w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This was a Broadcom 2 port 10GbE network adapter which was not supported on VMware vSphere 7. When I removed the NIC and restarted the VMware ESXi installation, the installation process went through flawlessly.
